Baptisms

Baptism at St Paul's

Baptism is the first step for a child on a journey that we hope will lead them to a living and meaningful relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

To help families decide if this is something that they want to consider, families thinking about baptism need to contact us first. Click HERE for contact details.

Baptisms take place within a normal service of morning worship, usually on the first Sunday of each month. We will only send out the forms and other details following a formal request for baptism.

The families wanting their child baptised are asked to come and worship with us prior to the baptism service, in order to help them get the 'feel' of St Paul's Church and its style of worship. The baptism form needs to be handed in at church, when the parents begin to worship with us.

Nearer the time of the baptism, our baptism team will visit to talk over what baptism means and to see if the parents have any questions.

The Thursday before the service, there is a short rehearsal in the church building at 6.30pm.

After the baptism service, our follow up team will visit to see how things have gone.

We then hope we will see both parents and children on a regular basis, to help you discover the reality of what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ and to help your child go onto discover for themselves that same truth.
