Baptisms

Baptism at St Paul's

Baptism is the first step for a child on a journey that we hope will lead them to a living and meaningful relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

To help families decide if this is something that they want to consider, families thinking about baptism need to contact us first. Click HERE to complete a contact details form for your child.

Baptism isn't only for children, many adults who were never baptised/christened as a child are looking to explore the possibility of being baptised. If you are an adult and you would like to consider being baptised, then please click here to complete an adult baptism contact request form.

Baptisms take place within a normal service of morning worship, usually on the first Sunday of each month. We will only provide an application form and other details following a formal request for baptism.

Both adults and the families wanting their child baptised are asked to come and worship with us prior to the baptism service, in order to help them get the 'feel' of St Paul's Church and its style of worship. The baptism application form needs to be handed in at church, when you begin to worship with us.

Pasrticularly with children, nearer the time of the baptism, our baptism team will visit to talk over what baptism means and to see if the parents have any questions.

The Thursday before the service, there is usually a short rehearsal in the church building at 6.30pm.

After the baptism service, our follow up team will visit to see how things have gone.

We then hope we will see you on a regular basis, to help you discover the reality of what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ and to help you go on to discover for yourself that same truth.
